The weekend brought in triple Luda’s 2011 event and he explained that the $30,000 raised will go straight to the community. “First of all I want to thank everybody for buying tickets to this game. We raised over $30,000 for Ludacris foundations and that goes right back in the hood and goes back to the city of Atlanta that’s been supporting me since day one,” Luda announced before the game according toMTV’s RapFix.
Ludacris also
thanking the celebrities said “All of the celebrities here today could have
been anywhere in the world. But they chose to be right here and give back to
the hood,” in attendance were Pusha T, Mase, Floyd Mayweather, Kevin Hart, Kenyon Martin, Josh
Powell, Shannon Brown, John Wall and the many others who attended for their
time. Nigerian Super Star D'banj was also there to fly the flag high.
Ludacris who took the event to Twitter later
on to address the Atlanta’s decision to name a day after him and expressed his
gratitude for the honor. “BREAKING NEWS! THE CITY OF ATLANTA JUST MADE SEPT 2ND
OFFICIALLY “LUDA DAY”! THAT IS THE BEST BDAY PRESENT I’VE EVER RECEIVED,” Ludacris
tweeted.
